Fighting, screaming
Shouting hate
Protesting for rights
From morn till late
Chaos burning
In people’s hearts
Wanting revenge
For lives ripped apart.
This isn’t the way
It’s supposed to be
Love and compassion
For you and me
Where colour isn’t seen
And love fills the hour
Where unity, respect
Override power.
Where people are safe
And protected from wrongs
The world in turmoil
Singing a sad song
But sooner or later
Justice will be done
And peace will reside
In everyone.
